Quiet well educated professional man, looking for a like minded partner to share times and interests together. Interests include travel, classical music (and other genres), gardening, DIY, sailing hill-walking, and reading too.
However I dare say that sounds mundane.! Actually I enjoy life. And would be thrilled to have a partner with whom I can share these pastimes.
Although I have travelled extensively there are several things that I would like to do while I still feel young enough, I want to see more of the world, my family live in different parts of the world, Italy Vietnam, and Scotland . I want to visit them as well as other areas too . I thoroughly enjoy visiting new places and learn about the culture.
I was a teacher for most of my life, and spent several years working with children who exhibited challenging and violent behaviours as a result of the abuse they had experienced at the hands of those who were supposed to protect and care for them. Now I enjoy gentler quieter pursuits; hill walking as well as gentler rambles, and sailing too but it would be wonderful to have a companion to join me. Besides these activities I have less rigorous hobbies, I enjoy gardening and music as previously mentioned. I have built a studio in my garden so that I can enjoy quiet times listening to my favourite composers.
Being widowed has meant that I have had to learn how to cook ..... not that I am a complete novice but cooking is always a bit of a mystery...however I have survived my cuisine for several years! I can make good bread using proper ingredients when I can get them. I have recently increased my culinary skills. Would be very pleased to meet someone who could help me develop my skills. I am willing to move.
Having written all of the above, I am a good natured , uncomplicated, polite fellow who would be very pleased to find a partner who might share my interests and does not mind a cosy night in sharing a bottle of wine, or going to enjoy. a concert , gallery, exhibition or just a film in the local cinema.

Ideally my partner will be someone with similar interests. A warm communicative and intelligent person who is prepared to contribute her own interests as well as share mine. It is the personality which is important to me, a genuine loving companion, not a dress size! Deal breaker would be a person who smokes.
