About him
Fortunate in several ways, a typical week might involve attending an art gallery, movie or play and perhaps finding somewhere for dinner and a glass of something sublime. Mornings tend to be given over to writing and research on various topics connected to economics of wellbeing. Most of this is done in London though additionally I spend some time each week in Oxford attending life writing talks and enjoyable college dinners - Burns night is often particularly entertaining.
I like walking - in cities, on beaches (Achill and Provincetown are favourites) and occasionally take yoga classes, swim or cycle. I particularly value activities that involve interesting groups including an occasional book group as well as some voluntary/trustee work.
My cultural life is rich and varied rather than overly formal and I am excited by the prospect of sharing it with someone who has a rich life of their own. I've written/edited a few books and am current working on projects relating to relationships, compassion, freedom and painting. Am pleased to have been described as fun and a good travel companion - despite the unpromising start of a DPhil in economics from Oxford University. Over the past decade, I have done some work in the US and return annually.
